Obituary
Glass, Marie Louise (maiden Phillips) of Bay Shore passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Brooklyn in 1947 to Logan and Marie Louise Phillips. Her maternal grandparents, Dr. Herbert Fett and Mrs. Daisy Fett, began calling their newborn granddaughter “Pussycat” and soon thereafter “Marie Louise” became “Puss” to her entire family and childhood friends for the rest of her days. Beloved wife of Steven for over 50 years. Cherished mother of Peter (Laura) and Catherine Casey Stewart (Michael). Adoring grandmother (“Nana”) of Logan, Ali and Connor Glass and Caitlin, Josie and Dylan Stewart. Treasured big sister to Margaret Ann “Meg” LaBarre (Bert), Sally Ann Hennelly (Mickey), Jeanne Faas (the late John Faas), Logan “Jay” Phillips (Kim), Juliana Wojcik (Peter) and Sandra Reilly (Barney). Puss was also a loving aunt and cousin to all those in this large family. She was an extremely caring, giving and selfless person for all who entered her life, and she had many wonderful friendships. Puss will be forever loved and terribly missed by all that knew her. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 12, 2021 between 3:00 and 7:00 PM at Fredrick J. Chapey and Sons Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy, West Islip, New York 11796. Funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM on Friday August 13, 2021 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 9 North Clinton Avenue, Bay Shore, New York 11706. www.chapeyfamily.com

Dear Puss's Family,
I have known Puss since we were in Kindergarten at St. Pat's. Lucky for me, we reconnected after our 50th reunion from Bay Shore High in 2015. Since then, we've met for many lunches with the "Queens" of the class of 65', a group of friends who loved and cherished our time growing up in Bay Shore. Our lunches always lasted over four hours and obviously we were never at a loss for words.
When I think about being with Puss in elementary and high school, I can only remember her beautiful smile and sweet disposition. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone and, 50+ years later, I can still say the same things about her today. At one of our last lunches before the pandemic, I remember her saying how much she cared about her aide. You know, she said, we've actually become good friends. I thought that was just such a wonderful thing and I was so happy to hear that she was enjoying spending time with her new friend. That was so Puss!
How fortunate you all were to have had her as a wife, a mother and a "Nana". She loved you all and was so proud of her beautiful family. I will remember her as a lovely, kind, positive, warm and classy lady.
I will truly miss our special little "Queen". God bless you dear friend. Linda Cilio Rofelsohn
