Stephanie Rosati posted a condolence

Thank you for your parcel of time. I love Lucille Hoeberlein. Kindly accept my condolences to Howard and Linda ~ to Wayne and Marguerite ~ to Angela ~ to family and to friends.
I am Stephanie. It is good to be with you today. I grew up with Uncle Howard and Aunt Lu and the boys. And Ginger too! My beloved parents ~ Al and Loretta Koza along with my sister Annette and myself, met the Hoeberlein's on summer vacation in the Catskills in 1958. They became lifelong best friends! Over the years, our family was blessed with two brothers ~ Mitchell and Christopher! And we had lots of FUN! We lived in Farmingdale. They lived in Glendale. Then in New Hyde Park. Manhasset. And Melville. And both sets of parents in Florida too.
' To the house of a friend ~ the way is never long.' ---- Danish proverb
Aunt Lu's favorite hymn is The Old Rugged Cross. Perhaps you might YouTube 'The Old Rugged Cross ~ Anne Murray'.
I am blessed to say that Aunt Lu and I became adult friends after my Dad took his trip to heaven in 2011. They spoke every Saturday afternoon. So then we did as well. We grew in love over those years. And I am grateful.
She asked of me recently, "What will happen when I go?" Years before, she told me that she is a believer in Jesus. I was reading my bible at the time of her query. I told my Aunt Lucille that I believe that Jesus controls the time and manner of every believer's death. Together, we read 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18 wherein the Apostle Paul writes under inspiration from God the Holy Spirit about believers who die physically. I believe that the soul does not sleep. And that believers are to have hope (elpis=confident expectation in the Greek) of a resurrection that we will see one another again forever. Aunt Lu replied, "I have hope." Particularly lovely. Lucille is in utmost happiness. "Her cares are now all ended." ---- Shakespeare
I liken my Mom and Lucille to Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly. Aunt Lu let me wear her perfume one day and it became my signature fragrance. Je Reviens by Worth. I was blessed to visit with my Bob in May of this year. Aunt Lu said "the name of that perfume means ~ I shall return." And we laughed in hope and glee!
I want you to know that Jesus Christ came in to the world through the virgin birth ~ went to the cross and died for your sins. Ephesians 2: 8&9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not that of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." The Roman soldiers asked the Apostle Paul and company, "sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they answered, "Believe on the Lord and you will be saved." So, right where you sit, you can pray in the privacy of your own soul, Father ~ I am believing in Your Son and you will be saved.
With tender love and respect,
Bob & Steph
