Obituary of Alfredo G. Kalafatic, M.D.

Kalafatic, M.D., Alfredo G., passed away May 31, 2017 at age 70, surrounded by his four children. Alfredo married Mary Beth (nee Newell) in 1976. They built a family together in Garden City, NY and he practiced Colorectal Surgery in Bethpage, NY for most of his life retiring in 2013. He was a soft spoken, gentle and patient man who enjoyed nothing more than playing 18 holes at his beloved Rockville Links Club in Rockville Centre. He leaves behind his children Paul, Jeanne, Greg and Mary Beth. Beloved grandfather of Kaitlyn, Grayden and Declan. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Monday 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Babylon, LI. Entombment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, LI. Visiting Sunday 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM.
