James Devlin Tuffin of West Islip passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, September 27. Son of James J. and Grace Tuffin. Loving husband of Anne (Burke), dear brother of Lissa Montgomery, Lissa’s son Daniel and Lissa’s fiancé Joe Martens, Gerald and wife Lynne and Dennis Tuffin. Proud father of Alline Stanton (Brendan) and Elizabeth Bowen. Best Bopbop to Summer, August and Magnolia Stanton and Reilly and Liam Bowen. Also survived by sister- in-laws Kathleen Sarcone (Phil), Colleen Coningsby (Larry) and brother- in- law Jim Burke and his wonderful nieces and nephews. Proud alumnus of St. John the Baptist class of ‘70, friend and member of the Long Island Retriever Field Trial Club, South Shore Waterfowlers, Long Island Lumbermen’s Association and the Babylon Yacht Club. Jim will be remembered by his family, his many friends and his co-workers at Riverhead Building Supply as the guy who always had a joke for you. Visitation will be Monday, September 30th 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapey’s Funeral Home, West Islip, NY. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 1st 9:45 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Bay Shore, NY.
