Obituary
Laura (Paquette) Senecal, 36, of Brightwaters, NY, beloved wife of Nick Senecal, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Born to Maureen and the late David Paquette, Laura grew up in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, alongside her brother Jason.
Laura was a beacon of light to everyone who knew her, and the world feels a little less bright without her. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life, regardless of where they were in their journey. Whether you were a stranger, a close friend, or a family member, Laura made you feel instantly welcomed and cherished. Her warmth knew no boundaries, and she never hesitated to share her love with those around her. With her infectious laughter, quick wit, and genuine honesty, she brought joy to every room she entered. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel seen, supported, and understood.
Being a mother was Laura's true calling, and her children—Elizabeth, Caroline, and Jack—were the center of her world and her greatest joy. Her nurturing spirit created a home filled with laughter, love, and security, even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. For Laura, family was everything, and the moments she shared with her loved ones were her most cherished.
Professionally, Laura was a highly respected advanced nurse practitioner at St. Francis Hospital on Long Island. She began her nursing journey at Quinnipiac University, graduating in 2010, and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Nursing from UCONN, followed by her Doctorate from Stony Brook University. Throughout her 14-year career, she touched countless lives with her expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication, earning the admiration of both patients and colleagues. Specializing in cardiology, Laura not only healed her patients’ hearts physically but also made a lasting impact on their lives emotionally and personally.
.
Laura is survived by her husband Nick; their children Elizabeth, Caroline, and Jack, her mother Maureen, her brother Jason Paquette, his wife Michelle, their children Christopher and Hannah, and her in-laws Linda and Bruce Rauch, her sister in law Kristen Laibach (John) and brother in law Timothy Rauch (Carolina), as well as many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
