Obituary

Antoinette Long entered into her eternal rest on August 10, 2024. She was 94 years old. She is survived by her children: James (Anna), Barbara Zito (the late Vincent Varbero), Gary (Edward Burns); she was a loving grandmother to James Long (Alison), Taryn Herbert (Brian), Peter Zito (Tracey), Karissa Mascolo (Frankie), Lukas Zito and Joseph Long (Carmen); she was also a loving great-grandmother to Katelyn, Emily, Brady, Abigail, Charlotte, James, Harley, Kayden, Brielle, Victoria, Antoinette, Alexandra and Jayden. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, James, parents, Peter and Anna Donnanduono, sisters, Carmela Beaton, Angelina Cagegia, Mary Calvanese and Rose Martinez, brothers, Carmine and Peter Donnanduono, and her granddaughter Kelly Ann.

Antoinette was born, raised and lived her entire life in Brooklyn. She was a devoted wife and mother and a woman of deep faith and a devout parishioner of St. Francis of Paola Church - Divine Mercy Parish. Antoinette was an amazing cook and the ultimate caretaker. She was one of the most selfless people you would ever meet. Her kind and loving ways always attracted people to her. Antoinette was happiest when she was with her family and vacationing each summer at Baumann’s Brookside. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make donations in her name to either the American Diabetes Association at https://diabetes.org/ways-to-contribute or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation at https://www.macular.org/want-to-help/donate.

The viewing will be on Friday, August 16 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Chapey’s Funeral Home located at 20 Hicksville Rd. Bethpage NY 11714. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, August 17 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Paola Church - Divine Mercy Parish at 219 Conselyea St. Brooklyn NY 11211 followed by burial at All Faiths Cemetery 67-29 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY 11379.
