Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (RAK) A. Kenefick, who departed from this life on June 13, 2024. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and precious memories.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Lucille Kenefick, whose unwavering support and companionship were the cornerstones of their enduring partnership. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and mutual respect.
He was the proud father of three sons, each of whom carries forward his spirit, values and love for the Yankees. Michael Kenefick and his wife, Rita; Kevin Kenefick and his wife, Kathleen; and Robert Kenefick and his husband, Matthew, will forever remember their father's loyalty, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Robert's legacy also lives on through his five grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Henry, Lucia, Michael, Olive, and his youngest soon-to-be-born grandchild will always remember their grandfather's sense of humor, stoic demeanor, and love for his family.
Born on November 28, 1949, in Queens, NY, Robert Kenefick was the son of Edward and Roberta Kenefick. He grew up in Hicksville, NY, where would spend most of his life raising his family. Though his true pride and joy was his family, Robert also held his friends close. He knew how to have fun and bring those along with him as the proud owner of multiple bars and restaurants throughout Long Island.
.
Robert will be remembered as a man of loyalty, integrity, laughter, and an avid sports fan (Yankees, Gators, Jets, and Rangers). His presence in the lives of those who knew him was a blessing, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
A memorial visitation will be held on June 18, 2024, from 4 – 8pm at Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home in Bethpage, NY with a memorial service being held on June 19, 2024, at 10:30am at St. Pius X in Plainview, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to ALS Association or ALS Ride for Life in Robert's memory.
Rest in peace, Robert. Your love and light will forever remain in our hearts.

Dear Kennefick family
I’m sorry to hear of Robbie‘s passing. I worked for Robbie at Dagwoods for about 2 1/2 years. He was always positive kind and genuine. He was great boss and a great person. He loved to talk about his family. He loved to watch the TV show Cops. those Yankees and had the loudest clap I ever heard it was a pleasure to have known him.

I remember meeting Robert when Kevin and I moved into our apartment at Notre Dame and experiencing true New Yorkers for the first time was an experience for a Midwest kid from Cleveland. But having just met Robert you can tell where Kevin learned his ability to shoot the breeze and immediately be your best friend. We’re thinking of the entire Kenefick family and will keep you in our thoughts.
