Obituary
Phyllis Frances Vuono passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024.
She was born on August 5,1939 to Frank and Mary Russo in Whitestone, NY where she was also raised. She married her love, Louis Vuono on September 10, 1960. Together they raised 2 sons as well as 2 of her nieces in Brentwood, NY. Phyllis was always focused on her family and friends, which gave her the greatest joy in life.
She spent many years working at Whitman Packaging as a line supervisor and then in shipping and receiving. Some would say that she ran the place as she was always keeping her supervisors in check. She made many friends there that she kept in touch with after retiring.
She was a loving mother, aunt and grandmother, who was loved by all she met. She always put others ahead of herself. She has blessed us with many memories over the years and we are grateful for everything she has done for our family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Louis, as well as her sisters Marilyn, Rose, and Frances.
She is survived by her loving children and their families, Louis (Denise) and Frank (Kimmie), her nieces Fran Wagner (Jeff) and Barbara Barnett. Phyllis was blessed with 8 grandchildren who she loved very much. She was cherished and adored by Courtney, Elizabeth, Gregory, Jeffery (Amanda), Kayla, Ryan, Isabella and Nicholas, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Brooks and Lennon Belle.
