Obituary
Vimal P. Patel, 43, passed away peacefully at his home in Old Bethpage, NY, on May 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 17, 1981, Vimal spent most of his childhood years in Brooklyn, NY. He lived a life filled with joy and love.
Despite Vimal's colon cancer diagnosis 2 years ago, he continued to have a positive attitude and never let cancer define him or limit how he lived. Vimal faced each new challenge with determined optimism, but it was time to be welcomed home into the loving arms of his father Pravin Patel who predeceased him. In addition to his wife Leena, also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Raxa Patel, the apple of his eye, his daughter, Mila Patel, his many, many family members & friends, and his faithful companion, Prescott.
Vimal was a family man. He cherished the time spent with his wife, daughter, and extended family. Even through all his treatments, he enjoyed teaching Mila how to play softball and video games, going to her karate belt tests, and driving her around to other activities. His love for his family was evident in his actions and his words, and his presence will be deeply missed at family gatherings.
A visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road, Bethpage, NY 11714. Private cremation to follow.
