Obituary

In loving memory of Ann Louise Ruess, 83, of North Babylon, NY who passed away on April 28, 2024. Ann was born in Maspeth, NY on March 13, 1941. Daughter of the late Adolf and Lydia Steck. Ann is survived by her adoring spouse of 63 years, Daniel S. Ruess. She is also survived by her brother Walter Steck and sister in law Mary Steck. Ann and Dan had four devoted children, Daniel (deceased) (Jackie), Peter (Anna), Julie (Ross), Catherine (Peter). Ann was the proud grandmother of Peter Charles (Linjia), Jaime (Matt), Daniel Stehling Ruess IV, Antoinette (Tyler), Michael, Peter Daniel, Jakob Stehling, Julia, and step-grandchildren Nicole and Brandon. Ann and Dan met in Sound Beach when she was 13 and he was 17 years old and were inseparable since. Ann had a beautiful love for children and worked as a library clerk for many years in the North Babylon School District.
