Robert Howard Peterson (Rob, Uncle Rob, Robby) born December 9, 1973 in Mercy Hospital, Rockville Centre, died January 5,2024 after a brief illness. Rob is the beloved son of Gary and Dale Peterson, and the beloved brother of Keith (Marissa) Peterson. Rob is the wonderful Uncle of Sean Patrick, Mora Lynn and Matthew Howard, the most wonderful nephews and nieces in the world. Rob is the nephew of Steven Peterson, Donald (deceased) and Susan Robertson, Robert (deceased) and Mary Robertson, William (deceased) and Victoria Robertson and Debbie and Peter (deceased) Egan. He is also survived by Mercedes Ortega and Andrew Sarisky, Omar and Lynn Ortega (pre-deceased by Omar Ortega). He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Rob attended Holy Trinity High School where he enjoyed being part of the Theatre Program. He was the most frequent visitor to the Islip Public Library, at least once a day. He enjoyed Sunday afternoons at The Harp and The Hound watching the baseball and football games, rooting for the Yankees and the Jets. He enjoyed reading books on movie celebrities, the making of movies, sports personalities and athletes and musicians. Rob looked forward to the New York Times sections on arts and leisure and the book review. There was always music playing upstairs at 40 Bay First St. and always his voice singing along. Rob loved deeply and his love touched many lives. He will be greatly missed In lieu of flowers donations to St. Mary’s Parish Sacral Ministry would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at Chapey’s Funeral Home. The Prayer Services will begin at 8pm on the evening Monday January 8th. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 am at St. Mary’s (East Islip) on Tuesday, January 9th. Burial will be at Holy Rood Cemetery where Rob will be interned with his grandparents, Howard and Kathryn Peterson (gram and pop) not far from his grandparents Robert and Rita Robertson.
