Obituary

MERTZ- Jeffrey J., of Lindenhurst, NY, on December 16, 2023. Devoted husband of Maria. Beloved son of Janice and the late John. Dear brother of Valerie (Thomas) Bommarito. Cherished uncle of Giovanna (Shawn) Clarke and great uncle of Aidan, Justin, Melania and Derek. Also survived by their beloved dog, Savannah. Jeffrey loved the beach, fishing, and his family and friends. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). A Religious Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 8:00 PM with a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jeffrey’s loving memory to American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.Visiting Friday 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM.
