Chuck's family asks that donations be sent to help raise funds to build a pavilion for the Baden Powell North Campsite at Baiting Hollow Boy Scout Camp, enjoyed by Troops 398 during their weeks of summer camp each year. This pavilion will be enjoyed by future generations of scouts and will serve as a fitting memorial to Chuck. https://www.gofundme.com/f/charles-chuck-bosworth?utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet-first-launch&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer

Obituary

Charles W. Bosworth 10/10/1943 – 10/20/2023 Born and raised on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, Charles, known to all as Chuck, attended Salesian Catholic High School in New Rochelle, NY and went on to graduate from SUNY Long Island Agricultural and Technical Institute at Farmingdale (now the state college) in 1963. While in college, Chuck met his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Florence Pond, who picked him up while he was hitchhiking to school. They married and moved to Lindenhurst, NY where they raised their five children. His family was the love of his life. He was the proud father of Kristine, Scott, Chuck, Mary and Geoffrey and father-in-law to Patrick Friedmann, Marie Bosworth, Maria Bosworth, David Johnson, and Denise Bosworth. He was grandfather to five grandchildren – Chuck, Brynne, David, John, and Thomas. Chuck enjoyed a successful career in the coffee industry which included working for the Coffee Brewing Center as a Field Representative, teaching coffee brewing techniques at schools such as Cornell University and The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park NY as well as many women’s clubs. He spent many summers manning the CBC booth at the NY State Fair in Syracuse. After working in several coffee distributors in the tri-state area, Chuck went on to become the Operations Manager for the Dallis Brothers Coffee Co. in Ozone Park, NY until he retired in 2004.

.

His volunteer time was dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America in Suffolk County, NY as the Cub Master of Pack 498, and the Scout Master of Troop 398 in Lindenhurst. During his tenure as Scout Master, Chuck guided 19 young men to the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest and most prestigious rank in scouting. He taught them to be leaders, and many considered him a second father. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His sons and grandsons have kept his scouting tradition alive and have been and continue to be staff members at Baiting Hollow Boy Scout Camp in Suffolk County NY.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent to help raise funds to build a pavilion for the Baden Powell North Campsite at the camp, enjoyed by Troops 398 during their weeks of summer camp each year.
