Obituary
Raymond A. Weigold Jr. (Ray), 80, of Bethpage, NY, died peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1943 to Raymond and Virginia Weigold. He grew up in Queens, NY and graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 1961. On his eighteenth birthday he enlisted in the Army and served his country for several years. After returning home, he attended Pace University in New York City studying business. Ray was dedicated, hard working, and passionate in everything that he did. He worked as a loan officer in both New York City and Long Island at Bankers Trust, Hamburg Savings Bank, Columbia Federal, American Home Mortgage, and Astoria Federal until he retired in February, 2012.
.
Ray is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie Weigold (DeOre), and his two daughters, Cara Ayotte (Jason) of East Greenbush, NY and Kristie Rasulo (Vincent) of Wantagh, NY. He is also survived by his five grandchildren who he loved with all of his heart, Grady Ayotte (13), Bailey Ayotte (8), Vinnie Rasulo (7), Stella Rasulo (4), and Matthew Rasulo (3).
Ray will always be remembered for his kindness and friendly personality. He loved talking to family and friends and always had great stories to share. He enjoyed watching old classic movies and westerns, and listening to oldies music, country music, and the Celtic Woman.
.
He loved to travel with his family and a few favorite destinations include Florida, Aruba, and upstate New York (Lake George, Saratoga, and Plattsburgh). He enjoyed restaurants and pubs and would never turn down an invitation to go out to dinner or grab a pint. He was a Giants fan and always looked forward to March Madness College Basketball.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a great friend to all. He will be greatly missed.
