I am sorry for the loss of your loved one. I was in Band at WHHS with John. As band members we share a lot of memories of Ballgames and Parades, good times and bad. But most of all John was part of a very large family, and he may be gone but we will never forget our fellow Cougar. God bless, my friend, until we meet again.

I was sorry to hear of John's passing. He was my student in American Government at Western Hills High School in Fort Worth in the '71-72 school year, 45 years ago. I recall John as a really nice young man. He helped make his class one of the better ones in the school's first 30 years of existence.

Dear Aunt Bonnie, Vickie, Laurie, Joe, and Connie, John was a servant of Jesus Christ and because of that, his life and death have a profound impact on us all. John loved hymns and so do I. I will include the words of the hymn “The strife is o’er” in tribute to him because it contains truth that is liberating: The strife is o’er, the battle done; Now is the Victor’s triumph won; Now be the song of praise begun, Alleluia! The powers of death have done their worst, But Christ their legions hath dispersed; Let shouts of holy joy outburst, Alleluia! Dear Aunt Bonnie, Vickie, Laurie, Joe, Connie, Van Hoesel family; We are confident that John is with Jesus and away from his suffering. The Lord was so faithful to us through this entire process.
