I am so grateful to have been Sylvia’s friend and co-worker. This beautiful woman, inside and out, was a wonderful friend to me, supporting me for over seven years with her gentle and caring nature. She blessed my life in so many ways. She had such a generous heart.
I have lots of great memories doing things with Sylvia. We shared the same hairdresser, and the three of us would go to this big gym to work out and then rest in the pool afterwards. I remember the three of us going a spray tanning place together to look nice for a big event we were going to. Sylvia and I had fun going to work retreats and taking advantage of the spas there. We gathered our co-workers and went to dinners for their birthdays. We helped each other organizing work events. At work, we would always help each other whenever we didn’t know how to figure out formatting issues or program issues with documents. I have great memories of helping her recently with a huge yard sale/estate sale. But most of all, I cherished our time together during our lunches at work watching our soap opera “Days of our Lives”. This gave us time to chat and catch up with each other.
Whenever we talked about a certain topic or issue and wondered how it worked, how to get it, or how to find something out about it, she would look on the internet, research it and give me the answers to that issue without me even asking for her help. She was so good at research and finding things, and she would do this for everyone.
No one worked harder than Sylvia. She knew every aspect of her job. She went above and beyond completing a task to help make it easier for her bosses and co-workers. She was very dedicated and committed to helping others and taking care of everyone she knew. She was truly extraordinary. Whenever her life would be in chaos, she never wore it on her face. She would always have a smile on her face and never complained about anything. She treated others as though they were precious and important. Hers was a life that shined brightly just so the paths of others could be illuminated. Hers was also a life that exemplified brilliance in every capacity. Sylvia was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was full of knowledge, generosity and compassion.
Sylvia, your life was a blessing. You will be deeply missed, and your memory will remain forever in my heart. You brought so much joy into everyone’s lives, and you made the world a better place. You have been an important part of my life. I miss the moments we shared as best friends. They say when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure – and I will cherish memories of you forever. I wish you farewell in your journey to eternity. You will never be forgotten.
Goodbyes are not forever; goodbyes are not the end; they simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.
Until we meet again dear friend, rest in peace.
Love,
Sharon Brundage
To Sylvia’s Family: I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking of you during this difficult time and sending healing prayers and comforting hugs. May the treasured memories of Sylvia bring you a time of comfort, and may you be surrounded with lasting peace of God.
Poem: Remember Me
Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
But remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
my going has eased my hurt,
and given me relief.
So dry your eyes and remember me,
not as I am now,
but as I used to be.
Because, I will remember you all,
and look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
As long as I have the love of each of you,
I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
