Obituary

We sadly share the loss of Marion Radermacher, wife to Wolfgang, mother to Susan, June, Monica and Glenn, grandmother to 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as aunt and great aunt. Marion was born in Queens, NY to German immigrants Franz and Hertha who came here in the early 1920’s. After the Great Depression they moved to Richmond Hill. Marion grew up there with her sister Hilda and loved dancing, girl scouts, and music as a young girl. She went to John Adams H.S. and became a RN nurse after graduating Flushing Nursing School. In 1958 she married Wolfgang her sweetheart and started their family in Corona and then Woodside, NY. Hey were married 64 years and had many beautiful trips together, and were inseparable even in assisted living. Marion was active in Eintracht Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hats, St. Jacobus Church, and her children/ grandchildren’s lives as a babysitter and grand cheer leader. She also worked as a nurse for many years at St. John’s Hospital in Elmhurst, Queens where she was also known as “Mrs. Claus” for visiting Pediatric Ward every year on Christmas Day. Her friends at Eintracht also know her as Mrs. Claus from yearly Christmas parties. She made Christmas special and especially enjoyed the Radio City Xmas show. She was kind to her family, friends, coworkers, patients, and strangers. She was an angel on earth to Wolfgang, her children, and everyone she met.
