Obituary
Lize Ellen Thielmann departed this world peacefully, in her sleep, on March 15th. She was born to her parents, Alfred Charles Thielmann and Maija Avenins Thielmann, on October 2, 1964 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, and she lived her entire life in West Babylon.
Lize was much beloved for her friendly, warm, loving, and fun demeanor. She was thus the unofficial good-will ambassador and mayor of Sunrise Senior Living, where she spent her final years. She loved to dance, and continued to do so even after retiring to a wheelchair.
Lize graduated from West Babylon Senior High School in 1984. She loved children, and worked in childcare for almost thirty years.
Lize has joined her parents; her elder sister, Maija Elaine Thielmann; and her beloved stepfather of over 40 years, Imants Kalnins in the next world. She is survived by her sister, Ilze Caroline Thielmann; her nephew and godson, Malcolm Thielmann Thompson; her brother-in-law, Aitken Hugh Thompson; and her dear, unofficial “little sisters,” Carol Ann Lowe and Stephanie Suttmeier. This little group, her true family, will miss her forever.
