Andrew A. Antonawich “Andy”, age 82, of Islandia, passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 60 years Carol Pizza at his side. He was the cherished father of 5 children: Andrew (Nancy), Frank (Lynn), Carolann (Neal) Feiseler, Matthew (Nicole) and Michael. He was Poppy Andy to 14 grandchildren: Joseph (Ashley), Monica, Frankie, Teresa (David), Ryan, Brianna (Dan), Daniel (Brianna), Danielle, Sydney, Katie, Morgan, Emily, Jessica, and Eddie; and GG to Zoey, Grayson and Elizabeth. Andy was a cherished brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a pressman and foreman at Newsday for 42 years. Andy was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus (4th degree) since 1972, and the Holy Name Society at St. John of God Church in Central Islip. He loved his parish and dedicated his life to the service of others. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 mile west of S.S. Pkwy., exit 45W). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Monday 10:00 AM at St. John of God R.C. Church, Central Islip, NY. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Visiting Saturday 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and Sunday 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM only.
