Mrs. Mulvey was the kindest soul. As a HS student, she took me under her wing and many years later I have followed in her footsteps and am now an English teacher myself. I still write her catchphrase “peace and love” in notes to my own students, and I put the beautiful ornament she gifted me on my Christmas tree every year. I was fortunate to be her “student aid”, have been tutored by her for the SAT, and even to have taught with her for one year. When my own mother passed away 2 years after graduation, she not only messaged me, but she showed up at the funeral home. I am so saddened to hear this news, but I am also so grateful to have known her.

In one conversation I had with her, she talked about a student who was brilliant and didn't recognize it. She loved to encourage and help build the confidence of her students.
