Devoted mother of Dr. Greg (Patricia), Susan (Ron Marino), Patricia (Joe Valenza), Candy (Francis) Scandaliato, Dr. Kathleen (Larry Grey), and the late Christopher. Cherished grandmother of nine. Dear great grandmother of eight. Loving sister of Lane Orange, Hope Delfalco, the late Red, Jimmy, and Randy. Gloria was a devoted wife to her husband of nearly 75 years, George. She and Georgie knew each other since they were five in the same Brooklyn neighborhood filled with their extended families. They married at 19 and planned for a large family. Eventually they moved to East Islip where Gloria was an active member of St. Mary’s Rosary Altar Society. She began her Medical Assistant career and then became office manager for the Family Practice of Dr. Dick Wagner and later for Dr. Chris DelGaizo. In 1990 she and George moved to The Glen in Ridge, NY. They both embraced life at the over 55 community participating in many clubs and where Gloria found joy in cooking and entertaining her family and friends. Since 2011, Gloria had resided in Gramercy Park, Manhattan. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Thursday 9:45 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, East Islip, LI. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, LI.
