A Tribute
"A Life Well Lived." This phrase describes Peggy Kern. Devoted wife to her husband, Jim, of over 63 years. Loving mom to not only her 4 daughters (Margie, Patrice, Donna and Bethann) and 1 son (Jimmy), but also the 4 additional children (Bert, Bill, Tom and Christine) that came to her through marriage. Incredible Nana to 3 adoring grandchildren (Michelle, Tim and Faith) and one additional by marriage (Drew). And proud (the word is not strong enough) Nana K to a very special little great grand-daughter (Elliana) who may not yet know it, but who already has a lifetime of prayers stored up.
But that is far from all this woman was. She was a sister. An aunt. A friend. A counselor. A prayer warrior. All of these are descriptions of her.
.
But one also remains. Servant of Jesus. And in that one title, all of the others make sense and had their roots. She was a servant of Jesus every day of her life, not only through her personal spiritual devotion to Him, but in the practical aspects of putting that devotion into action to be that wife, mother, friend, counsellor and prayer warrior. She didn't just love. She lived "love" every day. And if you were among those blessed to be the recipient of her love, you know exactly what that means.
Her suffering in the later stages of her life only served to deepen her devotion to and faith in her Lord, which never waivered to the end. And now, she is where her hope and faith have become reality for her. She is with her Lord, and reunited with all those who have gone before her. She is no longer suffering. And she is waiting patiently for all those she has loved so well in this life to join her in the next.
She truly did have a life well lived!
