When I got the call I realized how much he has meant to Kathy and I over the years, his kindness, warmth and smiles, always with a laugh or joke. Always making you welcome!
Roger was a sincere, humble man who loved his bride, his children (extended family as well!) and many many others. He was a hard worker and truly he and my father were best friends! It is said that they were closer to each other then many men are with their wives. When they added an extension on to the office, they deliberately built a common office that they shared and worked in together. He could be firm, and direct, but in my experience always fair. He had a deep faith in the Lord, and lived a life worth celebrating!
His bride, our beloved Aunt Kate, passed away in 2017. I’m so happy for that they will reunite again, and I know he missed her so! I’m sad for myself, my cousins and all the grandkids and even great-grandkids. To our knowledge he was the longest living male member of our family tree. We’ll miss him, just knowing he was there, and the warmth of his greeting on the phone when we talked on occasion.
With all our love and deepest sympathies,
Kathy and Jim Healy & family
May God’s abundant blessings and grace, mercy and peace comfort you all!

Uncle Roger, I miss that I didn’t see you more and not having more time these past years with you and Aunt Kate, and my cousins. Sand drifts through the bottle of time and we hold on to memories we’ve made and cherish through the years. For me they come as snapshots and feelings. When I think of you, I see your smile and a twinkle in your eyes. I think you spent so much of your life amused, and in wonderment of the family you and Aunt Kate created.
As I look back, you were often the silent one but not the least bit less aware of what was going on at any given time. You often joked in a way that showed so much insight. You always were comfortable in your home.
You were wise in ways most of us can’t begin to understand,
I cherish the times spent with you and Aunt Kate and my cousins at Bay Shore and Fire Island, always happy times filled with cheer, laughter and of course a good share of mischief! That was part of the fun.
You guys knew how to throw a party and make everyone feel welcome. You passed that on to your children. Both you and Aunt Kate always had a kind word, a sense of humor and smiles that were contagious. I know my Dad shared that sense of humor with Aunt Kate.
Spending time at the Healy house or on the Bounty or at the beach was the stuff kids’ best memories are made of. Thank you for sharing that with all of us Hanley children.
I hold those times close in my heart and always will. You have always been role models to me and I know I fall so short.
To all my cousins and your families, much love and my deepest sympathy during this time.
Here’s to Uncle Roger’s life being celebrated and his legacy living on.
God Bless Roger and Kate, and all of the Healys.. Love Cousin Kathleen

No matter how long a love filled, rewarding life someone might have, it seems they passed way too soon. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Healy a few years ago. I always felt welcome and part of the family. Terence tells me how when he sees his Dad he always asks,”How’s Jim?” I was so glad to hear he was always great.
Working 20 plus years with Terence and on most of the Healy clan houses I got to know most of you. I loved being around you all and getting to know you. You probably wished I would stop talking and start working.
I heard a lot of the Healy stories from T . The ones I liked the most and repeated to others and especially my Boys, was how your father handed out punishments. Mostly to Terence. Taking lunch orders and having to make lunch for the family, sweeping the driveway, and my favorite, stacking bricks from one side of the yard to the other. The writer of Cool Hand Luke must of heard about this.
When people mention the Healy’s I perk up, tell a few Terence stories, and feel very fortunate I know the family.
Our deepest sympathy to you all, Beth and Jim Rose
