He was such a good teacher. I remember he always liked talking about theodore rosevelts famous saying "speak softly, and carry a big stick" I hope he is changing lives in heaven as he did in bayshore. RIP The G.O.A.T.
My condolences, Joseph Heffron

Best teacher bayshore schools ever hired. He was not just only a teacher but a best friend and someone who you could talk too, he listened to every word that was spoken to him and made sure whatever the conversation was about that the problem was resolved. So much jokes and laughter was shared in his classroom and it hurts me so much knowing i cant go back, i miss his class so much. Mr burns always had a smile across his face and rarely got mad. He made my 8th grade year truley worth it. It's almost been a year sinse we lost him and I sill miss him every single day. He will always have a speical place in my heart. Rest easy Mr. Burns.

My condolences and deepest sympathy goes out to Bill's family.
I will remember many great things about Bill:
His consistently big smile greeting me with "TK" since the first day I met him.
A time he laughed so hard, Bill could have set a world record as it lasted for what seemed like forever.
A serious side to Bill. He was also a great listener.
A caring heart.
A great person to travel with. He always made things fun and looked out for the group.
I truly feel the loss of my good friend Bill. He will be greatly missed.

Billy was my neighbor. The best neighbor ever a neighbor could have. We watched each others homes when away.
Always sent a Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday card. So caring and thoughtful. He was warm, sincere and a real person a true person. He always made me smile and laugh. Billy was always the most agreeable neighbor on the block. What a terrible loss for your family, your friends, your students and your community. To say we are going to miss you is an understatement. Your laughs, your jokes, your kindness. What a loss for all of us. The Berkmans love you always! The light will always be shining across the street Billy.

Mr. Burns was my Advisory teacher at the Bay Shore Middle school, and he gave me many memories in a short period of time in the morning. He always had a smile on his face every morning when someone walked in the classroom. He never was in a bad mood because he knew his students loved him. I had a special connection with him sharing the same interests, history and WW2. We always talked about my WW2 collection and how I wanted to expand it and he always enjoyed listening. Every now and then, he would give me a WW2 magazine as a gift that I shall cherish now. He was a really big part of my 7th grade experience. Always saying hi to me in the hallway when I passed by his class, and always saying how much he wanted to have me in his last year of teaching at the middle school. Mr Burns was an amazing teacher and even if I didn't have him as a teacher for 7th or 8th he always felt like one to me. He shall be truly missed by me and every single student that had him and we all know he did a great job as a teacher and that his smile will stay with us forever in our memory.
