Obituary

Joseph V. Pergolizzi passed away on May 27, 2022. He was 78 years old. Joseph was born on November 14, 1943 to Marie and Anthony Pergolizzi in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Tulsa University, School of Law in Oklahoma even serving as a Sheriff during his years of study in Oklahoma. He began his prominent legal career as a legislative attorney in the Department of Transportation under President Richard Nixon. He would go on to establish himself in private practice having offices from Brooklyn to Suffolk County. He met his wife Theresa, the love of his life, at the young age of 16 years old. They shared a love story made for Hallmark, having met on a public bus in Brooklyn. Together they would raise their family of three children, Diana, Joseph, and Jason. He was active in his community as a leader for his sons Boy Scout troop for several years. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa, daughter Diana and her husband Larry, his son Dr. Joseph and his wife Raphaelle, as well as his son Jason and his wife Victoria. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Fabianna, Joseph III, Claudio, Teresa and 2 great-grandchildren Evelina and Paloma. In addition, he is survived by a brother Anthony and nieces Alicia and Denise, He is predeceased by his grandson Lawrence Jr. and his sister-in-law Carmen. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family and his faith were the core of his life. Raising his family, he instilled the values that were important to him: hard work, education, faith, honesty, and kindness.
