Colleen Clarke Bucket List Wishes

Frank J Belmonte, loving father, husband, brother, & friend gained his angel wings on May 16, 2022. He was surrounded by loved ones as he passed. Frank was 78 years old. Frank was born on August 10, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to Arnold and Josephine Belmonte. A few years later his brother Pete was born making their family whole. Not too long after the family relocated to Long Island and settled in Farmingdale. Growing up Frank was a bit mischievous and a prankster as a child and carried those traits throughout his life. He loved to be outside and be active. He excelled as an athlete both in football and baseball and later played for Farmingdale High School where he graduated in 1961. His love for being outside and his skilled athleticism carried with him throughout his life. Frank loved to be both by the ocean and the mountains; so much so he purchased a boat and rented a ski house every season near Hunter Mountain New York. When the weather was warm in his younger years you could find Frank out on his boat and by the beach, having a good time with friends, and fishing. When the weather turned cold you could find Frank out on the slopes and traveling throughout the country to different ski resorts. No mountain was too large or too steep for Frank to shred down. When Frank was not out by the sea or by the mountains, he was working hard as a telecommunications manager from the time he graduated school. Frank not only excelled in his career in telecommunications, but he was known as a skilled electrician and builder of all things. There was no job Frank could not handle, he was jack of all trades, except plumbing, he could never get that skill down.

Frank was also a family man. His first daughter Lisa was born in September 1965. Although a young man when Lisa was born, Frank worked hard to provide for her and spent as much time with her as possible. He later met Jayne Lynch while working at the same company in the early 80's and married her not too long after on July 20, 1984 and remained married to her for the remainder of his life. They moved to the Seaford/North Massapequa area not too long after getting married, hoping to have a child. Finally in 1989, Frank's second daughter Rebecca was born. Rebecca liked to joke that her father probably wanted a son who he could play sports with, but he got her instead; she ended up being just as talented if not a more talented athlete than him. Frank later in life traded in the skis for golf clubs, and to no one's surprise was exceptional at that as well. As he got older Frank stopped the ski trips and dedicated his travels to golfing and exploring places like Hawaii and Cancun to Disney World and Las Vegas with his wife and daughter Rebecca. Many trips also involved fishing which he continued to love to do both on charter boats and at local fresh water spots on the east coast and Long Island.

Once Frank retired in 2005, he started golfing multiple days a week and would spend his time driving around Long Island especially down to Robert Moses and Fire Island looking for the deer. Frank also enjoyed being a loyal NY Giants fan despite the disappointment they caused him over the years and loved watching the games on Sundays with his wife and daughter. When Frank was not driving around or golfing you could find him sketching. He was a talented artist and would love to recreate maps. Even as Frank became sick and weaker in his last few years of his life Frank would spend hours recreating unbelievable replicas of maps. He was extremely passionate about history and music. You could find Frank watching the history channel often at home. He was an avid fan of the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Jimi Hendrix, who he was lucky enough to wave that free spirit flag of his at the original Woodstock in 1969. Even as Frank started to fall ill later in his life he had such a contagious spirit. He attended up until his passing The Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center, where he would keep the staff on their toes with his mischievous behavior and entertaining behavior. Frank is remembered for his warm and easy going demeanor, his love of his family, friends and his animals, his helpful nature in the community, his feet spirit, and witty and humorous remarks.

He is survived by his wife Jayne, his daughters Lisa & Rebecca, his brother Pete, his dogs Gabby & Sadie, and numerous other family members, neighbors and friends, that he left an imprint on their lives. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday 5/25/22 at 9:15 AM at St James Church in Seaford on the corner of Hicksville Road and Seamans Neck Road.
