Robert W. “Bob” Remy passed away on March 03, 2022 due to complications from dementia. Born in West Islip, he lived most of his 83 years on Long Island where he married his wife Dorothy and raised two sons in Babylon. A lengthy career as a tool and die manufacturer led to a happy, active retirement. Known equally for his kindness and sense of humor, he enjoyed performing charity work, golf, and fishing. An active member of Saint Joseph’s parish in Babylon, he was a member of many charitable groups including the Knights of Columbus, his parish outreach program, the local food pantry, and the Saint Vincent De Paul Society. In 2012 he and wife Dorothy were recognized with the Saint Agnes Medal of Service for the diocese of Rockville Centre for their exceptional volunteer work. Bob was pre-deceased by Dorothy in 2019 and is survived by sons John and Robert M., their respective wives Carolyn and Judy, and granddaughter Shannon. Visitation will be held 11:30-12:30 PM on Friday, March 25th at Chapey Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Highway, West Islip, NY 11795, followed by prayer and burial at Saint Joseph Parish Cemetery, Livingston Ave, Babylon, NY.
