I was just looking up Dr. Peroconi’s phone number and stumbled on his obituary. I am shocked and saddened to see this news.
Dr. Periconi helped me during the height of Covid. He was very kind, and very knowledgeable. He spent a considerable amount of time answering my questions. I don’t doubt he helped many more people like me.
My most sincere condolences to his family, all those who loved him, and those in whose lives he made a difference.
Rest In Peace Dr. Periconi, and watch over all of us from Heaven. You have certainly earned your wings, fly high , and Godspeed.

With Deepest Sympathy To The Periconi Family,
I will miss seeing Dr. Periconi coming into the library to pick up his books and driving all around the town running his errands.

I walked the halls of Meadowbrook Hospital with Peter so many times so many years ago. He was my chief resident during my first year as a surgical resident, 1973-1974. We were all young, healthy, vigorous, eager to learn to be surgeons, and always at odds with each other. But we were truly a band of brothers, and Peter was our leader.
Over the years we each went our own way and created new lives after so many grueling years of training. And though we may not have stayed close or in touch, I can safely say that very few days passed when I didn't remember something funny or helpful that Peter said to me. Remembering him was a link to my past, to my youth, to perhaps the best years of my life.
As shocked as I am to acknowledge Peter's death, I am equally certain that the years have been kind to him and his loved ones, and I know that there are many people out there whose lives Peter saved and/or changed for the better who bless him daily.
To me, Peter was the quintessential surgeon, and I mourn his passing as someone who is grateful for having worked with and for having learned so much from him.
For his wife, Donna, his children and grandchildren, please know that he will remain alive in my heart and mind for as long as I live, and please know that he long ago earned my respect and admiration both as a surgeon and as a man. May he rest in peace.
