Sylvia, Ted and Ivy,
I am so sorry to hear about Ted's passing. Although I have not seen you guys in a while, I feel blessed to have been coached by Ted, when I played 10th grade football; having taught with him from 1971-1983; and having coached with him during his head Varsity Football in 1980. Ted played an intricate part in my life from my early teens, through my 30's, and few at West Islip can say they have been influenced by a single person on all three levels.
Sincerely, Ray Manning Class of 67

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Nagengast.
It has been nearly 50 years, but the life lessons he imparted to me, as well as the man himself, will always be fondly remembered. He was my mentor, motivator, and role model. He asked for my opinion, and listened to me, but held me responsible for my actions. Coach Nagengast was the first adult to treat the 16-year-old me as an adult. I know I’ve been blessed, and I am extremely grateful for the times we shared together. I hope you can find solace in the fact that he’s had a similar positive impact on so many other lives. My thoughts & prayers are with the entire Nagengast family in their time of grief.
Rest in Peace Coach Nag.
Sincerely, Dan Pepio
