GUIDER, JR..- Cornelius J., 81, of West Islip, NY passed away peacefully on February 16th, 2022. He was the loving husband of Arlene Guider (nee Curtin), and devoted and doting father of Rosemary and Eileen. Born on August 15, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Cornelius and Rose Guider. Brother to Regina Heartt and uncle to Denis (Sharon) and Maggie Heartt. C.J. is a proud graduate of St. Rose of Lima Elementary School and St. Augustine Diocesan High School in Brooklyn, NY and St. John’s University. C.J. had a successful career spanning 40 years as a retail executive with the F.W. Woolworth Company in New York City. C.J. was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Military Police Officer and so very proud to be an American. A very special thank you to our Luxor Nursing and Rehab at Mills Pond family who loved and cared for C.J. the last few months. We are forever grateful for their kind and caring ways. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy., (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday, 2/23, 9:30 AM at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Babylon, NY. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. The family will receive visitors on Monday, 2/21 from 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM, and Tuesday, 2/22 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM.
