When I think of Jamie, it’s with that great smile. Bob and I were fortunate to have known her for almost 40 years in different capacities, but first and foremost, as a loyal, caring friend. She was over the moon when she became a grandmother, and I always enjoyed updates and pictures she’d send me through texts. Although we moved south 16 years ago, there was never a visit north that didn’t include seeing Jamie, till this very last one in Dec. One of my favorite memories of Jamie was when she surprised us (Tammy and me) at our job, completely in costume, so much so that I didn’t recognize her, on Halloween! We had such a laugh over that surprise visit. Jamie would really get into Halloween! I can hear her exclaiming, “oh Lois, do you believe …..” and whatever the latest tidbit she was sharing was always followed by some hearty laughter. I will miss those conversations.

Coach Jamie you will be missed dearly. Thank you for teaching my son how to swim, work hard and feel confident in all that he does. You were a wonderful coach, mentor and true gem to him and my family. I will miss our laughing talks about how electronically impaired we both are. I know you are watching down on us from your beautiful pool deck in heaven. May you rest in peace. Thank you for your love of swim and teaching. We will always be swimming with you in our hearts. Love Logan Boccio and family.

Jamie was my landlord for the past 4 years, but she was more then that. She was my friend. We shared long talks about being single parents and how we raised our sons pretty much on our own. She has 2. I have 2. I think we connected on a much deeper level then landlord/ tenant. We had our little vegetable garden outside and it was there we sat and shared stories. She introduced me to her granddaughter who I quickly became fond of. She said to me many times" I became a grandmother overnight " from 1 granchild to 3! She was so proud. I will miss her fiesty attitude, her drive, her wit and hearing her footsteps upstairs. She helped me at a time where I was really down and out and I am forever grateful to her and her sons. Look out heaven this one is going to make some noise! Rest in peace Jamie. Skylar and I will miss you.

Coach Jamie,
Words are escaping me with your loss. You have deeply impacted our lives and lives of so so many others with your love of swim and Jr Jones Beach lifeguarding program. I have no doubt you will still be watching all of the swimmers from heaven and I hope they make you proud! Jamie we are all better people because of knowing you. You have truly touched and changed our lives in so many ways. You have been a second mother to the swimmers giving them your love, patience and guidance. (Both my boys needed extra patience lol) You saw potential in kids when they didnt see it in themselves. I will always remember when my son Colin was little and was struggling in practice and getting really frustrated . You sat him down after practice and gave him the talk he needed. It was a game changer for him and is what really inspired him to work harder and not give up!!! Another favorite memory was when the kids were trying out for Jr Jones Beach Lifeguarding. We weren’t sure Colin would make it since he just wasn't swimming fast enough prior to tryouts. You however believed in him and pulled him aside right before and told him to pair up with someone faster on the team. He listened to you and because of you he made it!!! I am so grateful for that.
I know every parent on the team will have stories like mine of how you helped their child in some way because that is what you did. You helped our children!!! Thankyou from the bottom of my heart❤️❤️❤️
Jamie you are truly “One of a Kind” and you will be missed greatly.
Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers as I know they are feeling your loss deeply. This is Goodbye for now but someday I know I will see your bright shining smile again❤️

Our Coach Jamie, you were and always will be the mother of our team. An inspiration, a wealth of knowledge and kindness, and a smile larger than life. Your faith in our children never went unnoticed. You believed in them when they didn’t. You instilled confidence in their minds when they thought they couldn’t. You shined your bright light even on their darkest days. And most importantly you opened your heart to all of us sharing a love like no other. To us, that is everything. We are the lucky ones.
A true gem. A beacon of hope. A heart of pure gold. Dearest Jamie, we are so sad that we have to say goodbye to someone who meant the world to so many. But maybe that just means heaven will be that much more amazing when we get to say hello again. Until then, don’t you worry…..your legacy with live on in the souls of your swimmers. They will ALWAYS bleed blue and gold in your honor.
Coach Tom said it best, “there is only one Jamie.” And we are so darn blessed we got to call you ours. We love you endlessly Coach. Rest easy. Xoxo
(Jamie, The world won’t be the same without you here but at least I can say I got to love you with all my heart. Look down on our little guppies and show them the way. God, I’m gonna miss you-xoxox-Wendy).

Coach Jamie, my first ever coach on West Islip Swim Club. Where it all started. Oh how she was so good at what she did and never failed to put a smile on our faces. The one who made me do Jones beach junior lifeguarding and kept me to it each summer. If it wasn’t for coach Jamie I wouldn’t have met Sally, Mia, Kate, Casey, Elijah, and so many more amazing people coach Jamie had coached. She was amazing. One of a kind. How I wish I could just have one more practice with her like the good old days. Love you coach Jamie thank you for everything.
