My deepest condolences to Gladys and Family
I want to thank Coach Ward for being a great coach, a mentor and his friendship. we share a passion and love for the game of baseball. we had many great conversations. As a mentor he showed me the right way to connect with players as he did with students. show people you care about them first and they will trust you when it comes to working on their process & performance. I know coach Ward cared and impacted many young men and women. having a strong foundation is the basis for all pyramids of success.
thank you for my foundation.
with lots of love and respect.
REST IN PEACE

Gladys and Family - we have enjoyed Gladys and Ken's company on many occasions - the diner, Nashville, the beach, concerts at the park and just hanging out. Ken was a great friend and thoughtful man. Condolences to all

Ward Family,
Ken was a transformational coach. His first and foremost reason to coach a young man was to prepare him for life. The lessons of preparing for competition, dedication, hard work, cooperation, are elements of his teachings. Learning to handle disappointment that came through a simple baseball game, transforming that loss into dealing with greater losses in one’s life, strengthened his players outlook on life. The twinkle in his eyes after a win were all that needed to be said about reaping the rewards of hard work.
Ken Ward left his mark on Nassau County Baseball but even a greater mark on his former players. God Bless you all!

Dear Gladys, family and loved ones,
I have had the honor of knowing and working with Kenny for over forty years. In the time we worked together or just stopped to chat at South he exemplified the character traits of a person you wanted as a teacher, coach and friend. Ken's character and integrity were unquestioned - he always provided well thought out opinions and advice whenever we discussed situations that needed to be addressed while coaching. I exited meetings with Ken always feeling good about the conversation.
While contemplating retirement, Ken was the person I sought out for his opinion and guidance. He was, without a doubt, a trusted friend who would always have my best interests in mind. During this decision time I phoned Ken and after identifying myself, he said, "Lance - one of my favorite people." I was, and always will be honored, by these words because they were spoken by Ken Ward. Gone but never forgotten....

Dear Coach Ward,
I don’t even know where to start. You’ve donee so many great things for so many people over the years and a lot of it went unrecognized but not with me. I always respected you no matter what anyone said because I knew in my heart that you were always looking out for everyone else is best interest and not your own. I wish I was able to reach out and see you more after high school but I’ll never forget some of the things you said to me and I’ll take those word with me for the rest of my life. Thank you Coach Ward may your soul Rest. Love your Boy Lou Dono❤️

My deepest condolences go out to the Ward family. I have known Kenny for about 20 years as we coached against each other. He was one of the best men I knew. Kind, humble, helpful, a fierce competitor, and a good friend. He was one of the coaches that I turned to for help and advice as a young coach 20 years ago. I had the privilege of playing his teams just about every year as a head coach. It was always a pleasure talking to him and just competing against him. His support and friendship will always resonate with me. He was a terrific coach, great teacher, and just an incredible human. God bless you Coach Ward.

Mr. Ward had such a positive impact on countless athletes and students who were lucky enough to have him as a coach or teacher. Whenever I reference great coaching to my students, I use Ken Ward as my example. He was an amazing man who brought out the best in his athletes. God bless him.
