EICHER, Thomas Richard passed away on December 24th at the age of 73, in his hometown of Eastport, New York. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Tom came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Tom leaves a legacy of love and integrity with his family and those who knew him. He has left behind wonderful memories of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. We are grateful for each and every day we got to see his glowing smile, and for the lessons learned and all the jokes we shared. Tom loved life to the fullest, enjoyed tennis, golf, the beach, and enjoyed his time with family and friends. Beloved husband of Diane. Devoted father of Peter (Suzanne). Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Emma, and Liam. Dear brother of Steven (Christine), Robert (Rhonda), Ronald (Mary), Scott (Beverly). Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents James & Margaret, and his siblings William and Kathleen. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons East Islip Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street (1/2 Mile West of the S.S. Parkway, Exit 45W). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:45 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, East Islip, LI. Cremation to follow privately.
