Obituary
Mildred Plunkett of North Babylon NY died peacefully in her sleep on October 29, 2021 at the age of 95. Born in Buttonwood PA, Mildred was the beloved daughter of the late Helen and Joseph Mushalla and eldest of three siblings. She moved to Brooklyn NY as a teenager where she later met and married her loving husband of 52 years Harold Plunkett. A devoted mother and homemaker, Mildred also enjoyed working outside of the home as a retail clerk and traveling abroad with her children. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Harold and her brothers Walter (Mike) Mushalla and Joseph Mushalla. She is survived by her children Joan Plunkett Hallden (Allen Hallden), Eileen Plunkett, Catherine Plunkett, Janet Plunkett Jeffrey (Jon Jeffrey), Theresa Plunkett and Michael Plunkett (Amanda Selzner Plunkett) and her grandsons John Jeffrey and Conor Plunkett.
Reposing at Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy, West Islip NY. Visitation Tuesday 3:00PM until 5:00PM and 7:00PM until 9:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 9:30AM at Our Lady of Lourdes R. C. Church, West Islip, NY. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
