Chinkel, Robert M., of Fair Harbor, Fire Island, on November 24, 2016. Beloved husband of Kathleen Chinkel. Devoted father of Meredith (Nicholas Stertz) Chinkel and Caroline Chinkel. Dear nephew of Claire Walsh. Loving brother of Marcia (Jeffrey) Stark, Meggin (Jay Hyams) Chinkel, Michele (Jack) Hurley, Claire Chinkel and Susan (Dave) Burns. Robert was an Ex-Chief and 44 year member of the Fair Harbor Fire Department. Reposing at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Hwy. (1/4 mile west of the Robert Moses Cswy.). Fair Harbor Fire Department Firematic Service Tuesday 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Bay Shore, LI. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, LI. Visiting Monday and Tuesday 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM.
