What a special man. John and Joan met my parents at the Knights and they became instant friends. Their kindness with my parents, who were ten years older than they were, and camaraderie were two things we always heard about. They were always socializing, going somewhere or even enjoying goodies together at home. Even after my parents moved to Virginia, their friendship stayed active as they would visit them when visiting their granddaughter. And after we lost my dad, when mom was up for trips to Long Island, it always included them both. John was always a gentleman, responded to emails, and was someone you could count on. I know my dad was ready to greet him with some Johnny Walker blue when they were reunited. May he Rest In Peace and May God Bless Joan and the family with strength as they grieve.
