So sorry to hear of Bert's passing. I have known him since I was like 6 or 7. Even as a kid he had a way of making me feel welcome and happy. I think about how once a year we would all gather on Captree Island at the Greenman's house for our yearly company picnic. When I grew up and started working with the company Bert helped in many ways. Whether I was in Babylon, Maryland or Albany, Bert was there. He pushed me at events to "work the room" giving me confidence and helping me to succeed. His two favorite things to say that always stood out to me was "Family, friends, work" and "I never worked a day in my life" Both great philosophies I hold on to.

I was sorry to hear of Berts passing, He gave me my start in my career as a civil engineer. I always admired his knowledge, his humor and congeniality. He made me feel welcome from the start even though I was a rookie fresh out of college. I remember Karen as a good friend so very long ago. My condolences to her and the rest of the family. Godspeed.

Your Dad meant so many things to so many different people. For me a professional mentor and good friend, for others a business professional who made GPI rise to the top of its industry, a volunteer who helped his community as needed, a sportsman who could spend time in a "duck blind" and have a smile on his face even in bad weather and to you a Dad whose pride in his daughters showed through at all stages of his life.
My condolences to you both and your families.

Such a wonderful man –we are blessed to have known him as a terrific mentor, colleague and friend. He had a positive impact on so many people and was always there to share his words of wisdom, philosophies and just the right aphorism for a particular situation. Family, friends, and business were the order in which he lived his life and he often shared those values with everyone around him. Cheers Bert, thank you for all the wisdom you imparted to us. You will be missed, but your legacy will live on for a long, long time. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with all the Pedersen, Bustamante and Salerno families.

Bert was a great friend as well as one of a cadre of true gentlemen that included Commissioners of several New York State agencies, Governors, an Assembly Speaker and many more luminaries. They knew how to work hard, have fun, and give a boost up to young people along the way.
We will certainly miss him.
All our best to you, his family members, who helped care for him in his waning days. We know what a challenge that can be.
We were honored to know Bert.

Pam, Karen and family,
I am so, so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was such a fun loving guy who collected friends as much as striped bass! What a fisherman and friend to our family. Our little Great South Bay world has suffered a great loss. Please note the subtle feelings that I believe signify his 'keeping in touch' as you travel through this grieving journey. And let the gushes of tears and memories that overwhelm you at times cleanse you. How proud he was of you gals - you were his world.
I believe in Faith, Friends, Family and the Future,
Love Always,
Suzy Greenman-Heilpern, Phil, Natalie and Jack
