My journey through life with Betty was one of laugher, spirit, and join. Betty and I meet at weight watchers in Bayshore five years ago and we were both full of the blessings of the lord. After going to ww we would go to and explore all the beautiful surroundings of Islip and beyond. Betty strong, beautiful and just a beacon to anyone’s life.
Betty would share her knowledge about every area in life including her gracious stiyle of clothing, history of our community and knowledge of our Veterans who came before me at the Brentwood VFW. I will our Veterans of Foreign Wars of Brentwood, our Veterans in our community will forever remember the honor of her presence in our post for ever more. Our Betty the mother of our tree lighting of Christmas each year. Her wreath donation will hang and when retire the picture remain. To the family, we are honored to have shared your Mother with our family here in Islip. We forever devoted in her honor. Our flag remain half mask as she journey. Salute. God bless us all. Brentwood VFW Commander Sabrina Lacy. A friend I hold dearly.

I met Betty when I was as a toddler! She was my babysitter for many years. As the years unfolded, Linda, her daughter, and I became the best of friends. Later, Linda had a baby sister Susan, who we "helped Mom take care of"!
My memories of Betty are very precious, and dear to my heart. I loved her as my other "Mom". She was always so beautiful, and looked as if she walked out of a fashion magazine; so perfect from head to toe. Such a loving, warm, sweet, and gentle soul, she was known to me for almost an entire lifetime, as "Mom Sunshine". She could brighten a day with her smile. She was a part of every event in my life as I grew up.
As an adult, she was there for me, no matter what time day or night. I will treasure each memory of her being such an integral part of my life. She was "the life of the party". Mom Sunshine knew just when I needed a hug, advice, or a laugh, when I was about to cry. She was a gift of special love. She taught everyone so many lessons in life, and to live life to the fullest. I will always be thankful for her words of wisdom, and the love she shared with me. I remember when we would kid around when she was going out on the town. Us telling her to behave, and her saying, "well that would not be any fun". Then we would all laugh.
She will always be my Mom Sunshine. She was an extraordinary woman and has left a legacy that knows no bounds.
"Mom Sunshine", you, will always be in my heart, and memories. You will still be watching over us, as you are still our Guardian Angel.

In our journey through life, we are sometimes fortunate enough to meet individuals who have a permanent and positive impact on us. Betty was introduced to me as "Mom Sunshine" and always lived up to that name.
Betty, was one one those unique individuals who brought joy and laughter to everyone she met.
The first time I met Betty she stepped into the sunshine to introduce herself to me. As she stood before me, there seemed to be a glow above her head. A halo? A reflection of bright light? A special message from above? No, It was "Sunshine". I was greeted with such a hug which was the epitome of warmth and sincerity. It brought a smile to me, every time someone mentioned her name. When I was fortunate enough to be at a special event where Betty was also in attendance, I was assured that I would leave with a special feeling of glee and euphoria. She was sure to include everyone in special moments, whenever she was present. She had a special way of making even the most mundane, an experience in fun and laughter. You knew she cared. She was always a ray of light, in everyone's life.
A simple stop to say hello became a happy adventure, or a lesson in life. Here was this true, sincere, warm, and dedicated woman, who I thought was here with all of us, to add special times to our lives. She made people feel happy, even on the worst of days.
Strong, willful, yet always fair and considerate, "Mom Sunshine" was a great guide through life's challenges.
"Mom Sunshine" will always remain in our hearts and our memories, being an eternal light in our lives.
God Bless you, "Mom Sunshine", as you blessed our lives constantly.

I met my dear friend Betty in June 1994 and since then we have been great friends.
She was the most loving and self sacrificial person I have ever come across. Surely God's love was spread through her to all who got to know her and came in contact with her. She was a true Christian and enjoyed serving others and assisting in every way possible.
She kept in constant touch with me when we moved to the U.S. and was very proud of my achievements and that of my children and grandchildren. Whenever she came to meet me at Penn Station she would be so well groomed and so pretty and I used to feel elated in seeing her and enjoying her company even during the short weekends we spent together. She always had the well being of others foremost in her mind and did not for a moment think it was too tedious to come all the way to the station to meet me. During the early days she used to even accompany me back to NY to put me in the Vamoose bus to get back to DC. The last time I called she was getting ready to go into hospice and I faithfully promised to visit and spend time with her now that I had got my Corona vaccines. Although I could not spend time as promised, I am thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to visit her on Monday, and spend time at her bedside, and say my final goodbye to my dearest friend.
She was a tower of strength to her daughters and her love for them was unparalleled. No word of comfort can help them at this time or give them comfort, and no one can replace a mother's love and care, but her sweet and loving memories and the sacrifices she made will linger with them for ever.
I pray that God will give them the strength to bear the sorrow during this dark hours, and heal them as time goes by. Thank God that we have the hope of meeting our loved ones again on that beautiful shore when our time comes to depart from this world.
My heartfelt condolences to Linda and John, Susun and her husband in their bereavement.
