I was so sorry to hear of Sara's death. We worked together at UUCSR in Manhasset she started in January of 1990 if memory serves me and I had just begun in July of 1989. She first worked in the church office using her considerable skills on the Congregation's newsletter and later moved to the Veatch department, the Congregation's well-known program which serves many varied social justice organizations representing Unitarian values with financial support.
Sara was soft-spoken with a gentle smile and a valued member of the staff who showed great care for her family and children.
I extend my sympathies to all during this sad time.
Sincerely,
Kathy Zullo

Dear Kristen, Bryon, and Maria,
May our God comfort your hearts and surround you with HIS love, and the love of family and friends.
The love and support you all shared for each other was an inspiration and a testimony.
It's with a very sad heart that she is not here with us, but it brings me much comfort and joy knowing that she is with Jesus.
I just picture her radiant smile in our Saviors arms........
Dancing and singing and full of life, joy, peace, and love surrounding her.
God's blessings, Marina

Beginning in 2006, I had the pleasure of working with Sara for 10 years at the UU Veatch Program at Shelter Rock in Manhasset. Sara was a consistently gracious person—generous and thoughtful. I saw how much she valued her family—how important they were to her, and she to them. Sara was kind and hospitable, the sort of person that everybody in our office enjoyed interacting with. She was more capable and stronger than she believed herself to be. She was patient with us—even in our more prickly moments. Her laugh and her smile were contagious. She was courageous and hopeful throughout the years of contending with chronic illness. I will always remember with gratitude her gracious and graceful presence in my life. Rev. Ned Wight

Dear Kristen, I am heartbroken to hear of your mother's passing. She was a sweet and lovely person. I still have pictures on my phone when we went to the lavender farm, we had a lot of fun that day. You and your family are in my prayers. Jane

I truly enjoyed working with Sara at UUCSR. She would stop by my desk and we would talk about everything. The last time I saw Sara was when we had lunch with a couple of friends. We wanted to plan another outing, but unfortunately, our schedules never worked out and then Covid happened. Her smile, kind spirit, and sense of humor will be missed. My deepest condolences to her family. Rest in eternal peace, my friend.

My years of working at UUCSR were made immeasurably wonderful by the generosity, hard work and enormous heart that Sara brought to Shelter Rock. I was an out-of-place midwestern transplant fresh from Wisconsin, making my first move to the big city when I met Sara, who went out of her way to make me feel at home. She quickly became a confidant, guiding everyone about the best way to get things done, along with tips on the best lunch spots. Her strength helped all of us get through 9/11 together and I'm forever grateful for the time we shared as a team and a community. There is a hole in the hearts of all the UU Veatch Program alum and grantees who benefitted from Sara's friendship and dedication. I'm posting a pic of our beloved Sara along with the equally inspiring Jan at the retirement salute to the amazing Victor Quintana - with gratitude for everyone at UUCSR, especially Margie, Anannya, Eileen and the rest of our team from back in the day...

I will always remember Sara for her gentle spirit and kind words. Thanks be to God that he took the sting of death through Jesus on the cross. I will continue to pray for those she left behind. May the Holy Spirit who is the comforter bring comfort to all who grieve her passing.
