Just writing to say LouAnn made sure you got everything you wanted. You should know towards the end she out did herself by setting up Hospice and got you the care you needed for a painless transition. It was a beautiful thing to behold. She also put together a beautiful wake and funeral procession to Calverton. The "purple" casket you mentioned in my dream was really a beautiful lilac color and you had a beautiful floral blanket of flowers to cover your coffin. But, as you know she did a great job of taking care of you all these years. Hope you are with Dad and resting in peace Mom.

Deedee, I’m not exactly sure how to say Good-bye. I’ll always remember visiting, watching movies (Cinderella!), and celebrating the Holidays. I remember you smuggling sweets, and oreos from the house, or sneaking in an entire head of lettuce for my guinea pig. I remember having you pick us up from school, and the road rage that I must have inherited from you. Snapping out one-liners at anyone who dared cut in front of the car, or God Forbid, walk in the street. You’ve always been feisty, and one of the strongest spirits around. I didn’t get to meet Grandpa, but it makes me happy knowing that you’re together now. I’m so grateful that I was able to get to know you as well as I did. I may not know how to say Good-bye, but I know how to say I love you, and I’ll always have you in my heart.

You were one "feisty lady" until the very end. I hope you somehow know how hard I tried to take care of you and make your departure a smooth, painless and most of all a fearless one. I'm going to miss you deeply. I will always smile when I think of our trips to the diner or sharing a cold beer in the summer time. And let's not forget the Cheese Cake! I guess I inherited my sweet tooth from you.
You were one tough cookie with a strong personality, which I like to think taught myself and Nicole how to deal with the "schmucks" that are out there in this world.
I'll miss our Italian bantering!
I love you,
Lulabelle

Dear Mrs D, I hope you're at peace with no more pain...reunited with your family that have passed before you. Be good up there and remember there's no giving the horns in Heaven! We'll miss you.

Life began for me with Little Golden Books, a Rainy Day Bank, pulling dandelions roots and all, and one milky way as a snack in the afternoon. Holidays had something on the front door and kitchen table for the holiday approaching. Halloween was the most fun when I was little. And, like the sassy mom you were, you left on Halloween. I guess you wanted me to remember that fun day with you in it. During the holidays I will think of you by decorating and continuing that tradition.
I have spent most of my married years following your advice about banking and investment practices. We would talk for hours. Thank you for that. You have been there for me when I got my first apartment, my first and second homes, and each grandchild. You watched my children when I taught, and completed each of my graduate degrees. Thank you for all you have done. To tell you the truth, I write everything as though you’re reading it, though I hope you have better reading material where you are. I will miss you mom.

I have so much to say but don't know how to say it. Not too long ago I would ask how you are, and you always said "Like an old lady". You were not supposed to go this quickly. I listened to Born in the USA the other day and remembered us dancing in my room. As much as we had words to each other, and I know I was no saint, I would do things to purposely piss you off, like pretending to go into the living room in the Wyandotte house, I want you to know how much I love you and will miss you. Thank you for everything you have done for me through the years and staying to see me get married and meet your great grandkids. Pop in once in a while to say hi, and tell Grandpa to come as well.

I'll always have fond memories of all the Thanksgivings and Christmases our
families shared together. They were very special. Hope you, Uncle Lou and my Mom and Dad can spend them together again in Heaven.
Please rest in peace. You will not be forgotten.
Love Karen

You know I've always been a man of few words but I hope you know that I'm glad to have known you. It is sad to have seen you in so much pain, but I know you'll find peace in heaven. Keep a watch over all of us but most of all, Have Fun up there.
