Although I didn't know John for a long time, he was one of the most honest and upfront person I have met at MTA. He didn't hold his tongue and spoke up when other people failed to. Your undeniable wittiness, boisterous, and loving presence will be missed but we will carry your lively spirit within our hearts and memories forever.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Kessler Family.
I am so sad to hear this terrible news about John, I would walk up to the train platform for the 236 KO train with him and he was so looking forward to his retirement and doing what he wanted.
Rest in Peace John Kessler.

My heart goes out to the family at this time. it just seems like yesterday, I was working out the last details of his final day for retirement. He got his retirement date down to a science and I entered the last pay code and amount to make it happened. He was such a pleasant and caring person and he will certainly be missed by the MTA IT family.
My condolences to the family and I have you in my prayers!
Sincerely,
Fiona Robe.

To the Kessler Family.
I had the opportunity to known John for just a few years. In that short time I witnessed how much he cared about his ‘basement family’, which he welcomed me into. He was always planning the next Vincent’s dinner, or basement holiday lunch for the group, while we were still working on dessert. My condolences, and he will be both missed and remembered.

John,
you were a great co-worker at the old LIRR TSC (the good old days). When you left the help desk there was a big void but you were always very helpful and kind.
I will never forget you.
Rest in peace.
