Obituary
Teresa Wenz was born April 24th 1952, to Robert and Illia Gilmore. She was raised on Long Island with 4 siblings Joyce, Joan, Mark, and Patricia. Terri as her friends and family know her, had a profound love of nature, specifically the ocean. On rainy days she would often tell her 2 sons James, and Daniel to play outside. They always did, usually with her in tow ensuring their shared love of nature.
Terri’s infectious happiness graced many parties, family gatherings, and casual get togethers. Her love of children, and agelessness often made her the center of attention with many kids; and is what made her an amazing grandmother to her three beloved grandchildren Jude, Illia, and Roman. Her love of family made her a 2nd Mother to daughter in laws Melissa, and Bonnie.
Terri is survived by her loving husband Michael Wenz, whom she shared many traveling adventures. They made their home open to all, and everyone felt at home in their company.
Terri’s lifelong faith, and love for God will guide her to heaven. Her grace and light will be missed by all whom she left behind.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled
and do not be afraid."
John 14:27
In Lieu of Flowers

My beautiful God mother,
You shined so bright in everything you said and accomplished. The days with you, Jimmy and Danny are memories that will always remain with me in my heart. Thank you for being my mothers best friend, and a wonderful Aunt. You were always so much fun Aunt Teri! I pray for you all the time, and your spirit will never be forgotten. I love you always,

When I was visiting Aunt Ilia, (Teresa’s mom)
Teresa would call every morning and they would pray the following prayer together
by St Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O Divine Master, grant that I may
Not so much seek to be consoled as to console
To be understood, as to understand
To be loved, as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
And it's in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it's in dying that we are born to Eternal Life
Amen
This is one of my favorite memories of Teresa and Aunt Ilia.❤️❤️❤️
Two awesome women!

I am beyond words of thought right now, to even begin expressing my emotions of how such a wonderful soul could depart so young, with such love for life, and an infallible kindness towards others would be endless. I'll always cherish and recall our talks on the phone; also the acceptance and love you gave me.
My prayers go out to your immediate and extended family Ma'am. For now, they may of lost a Saint here on earth , but have gained a Guardian Angel in Heaven forever.

This quote made me think of Teresa....
“ wherever a beautiful soul has been, there are beautiful memories”
Thank you for the beautiful memories, Teresa.

My deepest condolences to Teresa’s family. She was such a beautiful, loving person. Although we lost touch with each other as adults, I have so many wonderful memories from my childhood. The Gilmore family was always there for my Mom and us children. May you find peace knowing that she was welcomed into Heaven by many friends and family. Rest In Peace. Love, Kathy N96t7
