Part II: A "Jack" of all trades, Uncle Jack was extremely well read, and always current on hot topics. He had a knack of letting you know his opinion without being "opinionated" (although those closest to him might disagree).
Ultimately, he was a man's man and a woman's man. Although Uncle Jack did not appear to be the "warm and fuzzy" type, (and might shutter at the thought),
he was to me!
The last time I saw Uncle Jack was before he became so ill. He came to dinner at our house and Carol and I were elated to have Aunt Carol and Uncle Jack all to ourselves. What a great parting gift!
We both loved you, Uncle Jack!

Part I: It is not a difficult task to find the right words to define how I felt about my uncle; rather, the difficulty lies in limiting them. I never thought of him as the "avuncular" type as he was so youthful and energetic. As a result, I always found it difficult to call him uncle.
Number one, Uncle Jack was "colorful". A true entertainer, his humor prevailed at every occasion without putting himself in the spotlight. He would slide in the "lines" like he was whispering a secret in your ear and then proceed to laugh at his own joke.
He was a wonderful conversationalist. Talking with Uncle jack was like being interviewed. He always had so many questions. I could expect a welcome appearance from him at every arrival, as he would swoop in from the mob at all the gatherings and make you feel as though the Queen had just arrived.

Sorry for your loss. I remember Jack from the late 1950's in Bayside. He was one of the "bigger" kids. Rest in peace Jack.
