Obituary
Margaret Kegel, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2020 in her home in Bayshore, New York after a long battle with dementia. She was born on September 21, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas and Elizabeth Flynn. She married her husband, David Kegel, on May 23, 1953 and they were married for 67 wonderful years.
She is survived by her three children: Kathleen, Kevin, and Michael; her grandchildren: Kevin Jr, Emma, and Olivia.; and her great grandchildren: Mia and Jackson.
Margaret was a phenomenal cook, whose meals have been recreated a hundred times over in her honor. She was an avid reader who spent her days traveling to the library with her husband, David or even reading to her grandchildren when they were younger, walking down by the marina on Long Island sound on warm days, or even spending time gardening around the home. Her life and memories will be immortalized in the hearts of her family and friends that she has made a lasting impact on.

Great neighbor, friend, god parents, and family to the Murray’s. Many wonderful times our parents had at your home, family celebrations, and milestones. We remember your calm demeanor, baked Irish bread, home grown vegetables, and your roses and hostas. Our condolences to all. ❤️ ☘️

Dave, Kathy, and family,
So sorry to hear of Marge’s death. She was so kind and thoughtful. She once sent us a recipe box with some of her recipes. I still use it. Glad we got in a few visits not all that long ago, and glad she was able to visit us here when John was ill. So sorry we’ll miss the wake and funeral—no traveling during the pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Beth and Kate
