Obituary

Filomena Marra-Mack, a Nurse Anesthetist. She died on October 5, 2020 at the age of 66 years old in Central Islip, New York at her home. Filomena is survived by her husband Willie C. Mack. Brother Salvatore Marra, wife Maria-Rosa Marra of Deer Park, New York. Sister Michelina Marra, husband Armando Castelli, of Queens, New York, Carmine Marra wife Roxanne Marra of Orlando, Florida. Two sister-in-law’s Joanne Marra, and Elizabeth Marra, and a host of nieces and nephews; John Marra, Michael Marra, Lissa Marra-Curreri, Raffaele Castelli, Roberto Castelli, Serena Marra, Toniann Marra, Scott Marra, Anthony Marra, Melissa Marra. Judy Cassidy a beloved best friend and cherished kindred spirit. She is predeceased by her father John Marra, mother Antonia Marra, and two brothers Felice Marra, and Amato Tony Marra. Filomena was born in Sant’ Angelo Lombardi, Italy on June 11, 1954 to the late John Marra and Antonia Marra, they were married in their hometown in Italy. Both parents immigrated with their six children to the United States and established their lives in Astoria, New York. Filomena’s career began in the nursing profession upon graduating from Queen Boro Community College in 1979 in Queens, New York, and earning Bachelor of Science from Saint Joseph College in 1983. She continued her education by attending Downstate University, of Brooklyn, New York in 1998 earning a master’s degree as a Nurse Anesthetist. After completing the enormous amount of education, she began working as a Nurse Anesthetist at North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center a under North American Partners of Anesthesia (NAPA).

On January 2001, Filomena married Willie Mack a Physician Assistant. Filomena and Willie never had any children of their own, however she inherited, four stepchildren Anthony Mack, of Oakland California, Fredrick Cox of Bay Minette, Alabama, Pershanta Mack of Atlanta, Georgia, and William Mack of Bronx, New York. Filomena was a devoted wife and a dedicated Health Care Professional. She was a self-proclaimed seamstress. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida with family regularly. Filomena enjoyed her free time traveling around the world with her husband Willie Mack. She was religious and a dedicated spiritual Roman Catholic, who believed in Our Lord in Savor Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
