I was deeply saddened to read of the passing of Frederick. He and I were member of the graduating class of June 1957 of Bishop Loughlin Memoraial High School. It was the largest class to ever graduate from the school and Fred was a treasured member. I had the great pleasure to compete with him on the varsity handball squad and spent many a lunch hour with him on the school;s wooden courts. My most vivid memory of him is that he looked more like an elementary school attendee than a high schooler. Howeve, his appearnace belied his competitive spirit.
My condolences to his family and friends. I will keep him in my prayers.
Regards
Marco Orlando

I had the opportunity to know Fred at Kodansha USA and my interactions with him were always pleasant.
Our last conversation was about his vacation adventures and plans for future trips....
He had also given me some great advice on investing, 401K's etc.
Sending my condolences and prayers to Fred's family.

My condolences and sympathies to Fred's family. I feel I was only just getting to know Fred in the past year or two, in my new capacity at Kodansha, and his passing is a shock to me. I do know he's deeply beloved and respected by his Kodansha colleagues—in New York, myself on the West Coast, and rippling all the way out to Tokyo, Japan. His influence traveled far. When I was getting started in my new role, Fred came out to meet me at Sidecar for lunch on a verrry cold January day, and he shared a lot of insight and wisdom to bring me up to speed, not just from his time at Kodansha, but his career in book publishing. I remember that taste of NY midtown life from another era fondly. He'll be well remembered at Kodansha.

I'm so saddened to hear of Fred's passing. I had the privilege of working with Fred for many years early in my career, and he was always so supportive, kind, and took the time to help me understand accounting and the different aspects of my job. I always enjoyed working with Fred or going out to lunch with him. He made an impact, and he will be missed.
Best wishes to his family.

It was a shock to hear the unexpected news of Fred-san’s passing.
I extend my deepest sympathies his family. May he rest in peace.
I have been happy to work with Fred-san over 20 years next to desk. He is not only a supervisor at accounting dept and companywide project, matters but also a teacher of life and a great friend. He taught me a lot of things. He is generous, owner of a warm heart, charming, great smile. I can’t describe well in words. I was always thinking I wanted to repay him someday. He didn’t wait for my repayment. I was lucky to meet Fred-san in USA. I wish I could tell you how much I thank Fred-san. He remains in people’s hearts.

My best “buddy” at the beautiful Admiralty! Remembering when we we’re in NY after hurricane Sandy and he siphoned gas out of his car to ours so we could get back to Va Beach! ALWAYS a man of integrity, one of which I can only hope to emulate.
Our love to Angie and family. Love Ken & Maggie

I offer my sincere condolence to his family.
I am a CPA and worked with him closely in my capacity as a CPA.
He was always kind and helpful to us. We all liked him so much.
We often had lunch together and liked wine over the lunch. We are close in age and therefore had lots in common to talk about.
He helped me a lot in helping one of my clients for starting up her business, for which I thank him personally.
I hope he will rest in peace.
