Valva – Virginia W. of Great River, NY passed away February 27 at 88 years old. Loving Mother of 6 children - Joanne Purchla, Robert Valva, Susan McAuliffe, Mark Valva, Kathryn Valva, and Bernadette White. Daughter in laws Ellen Valva, Jean Valva and son in law Adam White. Predeceased by son in laws John Purchla and Billy McAuliffe. Cherished Grandmother of 12 – Jacque Buckshaw & Natasha Purchla; Frank & Bobby Valva; Billy & Katie McAuliffe; Samantha Fulfree, Mariah & Carissa Valva; Derek, Tyler & Gabriella White. Glowing Great Grandmother of 3 - Dax & Brody Buckshaw; Luca Fulfree. Virginia also has 2 adopted Grandchildren – Grant & Parker Weiss.
Virginia spent her life as a loving caregiver - first to her children, then her grandchildren and finally to her great grandchildren. She loved all children & all children loved her back. Virginia’s second love was the Church – St Mary’s East Islip. She spent countless days & hours giving back to the community.
Virginia Valva’s spirit will remain forever. She touched the souls of countless individuals both young & old. For those she touched, her love & warmth will endure. Her physical presence will be greatly missed, but certainly the impact she had on those lucky enough to know her will endure for eternity.

Our deepest sympathy to Joanne, Jacque, Natasha and all the family. We remember Virginia always smiling and asking about everything that might be new in our life. We didn't see her often, but everytime we did it was a happy occasion. May your memories be a comfort to you all.
With love,
Paul and Paulette Purchla

I am so very sorry. I will miss her very much, she meant alot to me. I saw her just about every week for over 20 years and we had a special friendship. She was a very special lady. The last time I saw her she was on the phone when I was leaving and we blew eachother a kiss. R.I.P. Virginia. I love you.
