Bill was a close personal friend of the family. Bill had joined a theater group back in the 70's that my mother was involved with. My parents became close friends with Bill, even taking short overnight trips together ( PA all you can eat fried chicken ). Bill also introduced my father into sailing and we often were out on the bay together. I remember sitting in his office at Sayville Ford as he ran the show of endless salesman running in and out of his office. He would say " If the customer leaves the dealership happy, it's a good deal ". He was the man. He sold me my first new truck, a 1977 F250 Highboy. When Bill was the ultimate salesman at Key Chrysler in Patchogue, he would bring the coolest hot rods trade ins for me to drive, a 16 year old kid driving hemi cuda's , vettes and the likes. If I wasn't home, Bill would leave a burnout in the driveway to let me know he was there. My parents are long gone, and though I regrettably lost touch with Bill, I have thought of him often. Rest in peace Bill. You have left your mark with us all.

Bill was such a friendly and informative individual who did so much in the automotive industry for everyone. He was never short on signs that he knew the dealership needed to be compliant. Many years ago when Bill was a Service Manager, he reached out to me and asked if I’d like to come work for him. In typical Bill fashion, he explained that if I came to work for him, I would be a small fish in a big pond where as at the moment I was a big fish in a small pond. Nice going Bill, you talked me out of taking a job you offered me. He explained he wanted to be honest and transparent with me and make a decision he thought would be best for me. I always enjoyed seeing him and sitting down to have many conversations that had nothing to do with the automotive industry. You will be missed, not only by me, but by all of the entire industry. I hope you find peace in your next journey and I will think of you often when I have questions that need quick answers.
Rest in Pease my friend. You will be missed
