Helen, living next to your Uncle Freddie all those years and eventually becoming a member myself of the North Massapequa Fire Department I remember with great fondness your Dad. The Burton and Penna Family helped build the NMFD into what it is today, one of the BEST Fire Departments on Long Island. You have a lot to be proud of through all his years of dedicated service to the North Massapequa community. He will be truly missed.Rest in Peace Winnie.

Dear Helen Noel and family I was so sad to hear of the passing of your beloved Dad “Big Winnie”. He was so good to me , a spiritual father I have the fondest memories of him from our childhood growing up next door as neighbors our camping trips “upstate” and the classic Christmas visits from the Massapequa Fire department completed with Santa and all the helpers stopping by for holiday “cheer” lol. Candy for the kids etc. It was always a highlight. We went through many trials in that neighborhood over the years but so glad we remain friends til the end. He was so blessed to have You and your family to love and care for him did such a wonderful job caring for him all these years I’m glad he is at peace now smiling on us from heaven with your beloved mom and siblings... be assured of my prayers at this difficult time God speed and Safe Journey home .”Big Winnie” .... you will be missed !
