Our deepest condolences to the Johnson Family. It is a great loss with the passing of Joan Johnson. She has always been a beacon of light to anyone she has come in contact with, especially the Lee Family. She has always been a source of strength, guidance and understanding. Over the course of years the bond with our family has been strong. It is because of her that such strength in the families existed. To know her was to love her. That's who she was, and her legacy shall live forever.
God Bless the family and know that she is at Peace.
With our Sympathy
The Lee Family

To the family of Joan, my deepest condolences. She was my boss, my mentor, my savior, and an inspiration to me and all who met her and got to know her. She was decisive, strong, warm, and caring......truly one of the most remarkable women I have ever met. I worked with her in Head Start, my first job teaching. I had so much to learn, and she never wavered in helping me do just that. I was in Central Islip with her for five years in a couple of different buildings. I left for a maternity leave with my first child, and we lost the baby after a placental abruption. She called me and urged me to come back; that I needed to work (though she had already filled my leave), and she saved me from the horrors of myself at that time. I have four children with amazing spouses, and they each have children of their own.....there are ten grandchildren. I thank God for Joan's moment in my life with her warm smile, infectious laugh, and bright shining eyes. She made all the difference. May she rest in peace.

Joan was amazing, fierce, incredible woman who influenced me in ways that affected the trajectory of my life. She had a smile that lit up every room and a laugh like no other. The lessons she taught me while I worked for her when she was the Town Clerk, are ones that I will cherish forever. Her influence on her children were immeasurable. As a former classmate and friend of Cleveland, I saw how her influence carried over to him. Oh what I would give to see the celebration that occurred when she entered heaven's gate and the heard her Savior saying: "Well done my good and faithful servant. you have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!"
